The smoke detector on the ceiling just off the staircase downstairs is chirping indicating a low battery. Weeds beginning to grow on the lanai out toward the far side screens and plants, I pulled the taller ones today. I found the humidity upstairs in the lower 70 percentile, which is unacceptable. The system was running and I checked the temperature of the air coming from the supply docs and when I first got there, it was 76.6°. The line set copper line was not warm, which indicated either a problem or that it just turned on, and began to run. The dial on the humidistat clicked at just about 70 which confirmed my hygrometer readings in the low 70s. I called the homeowner and we decided to turn the humidistat to on or zero basically which bypasses the humidistat and runs from the thermostat. We also discussed and decided to lower the thermostat setting to 74° and I will come back next Tuesday to check the system and the humidity.
